- Boat Engine Troubleshooting and Maintenance Workshop. This four-day workshop, December 8-11, in Port Hadlock addresses troubleshooting various components for two- and four-stroke engines, as well as maintenance techniques. For more information, see our Calendar of Events.
- Sea Grant Fellowships. Washington Sea Grant placed six graduate students in highly competitive national fellowship programs in 2008. The 2010 Dean John A. Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship and the 2009 Sea Grant/NOAA Fisheries Graduate Fellowship programs are now open. For more information, see our Education homepage.
- Geoduck Research. Washington Sea Grant has awarded grants for three major research projects to examine the possible environmental effects of geoduck aquaculture in and around Puget Sound, including the Strait of Juan de Fuca. For more information, see Current Geoduck Research.
- 12th Annual Orca Bowl. Washington’s regional high-school competition in the National Ocean Sciences Bowl will take place Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009, on the University of Washington campus in Seattle. For more information, see Orca Bowl.
